This work is the first of a series of video diaries constructed as a collage of phone videos recorded in and around Athens during my time living here. The video combines these fragments with a performance exercise developed within my daily practice at home, as well as a spoken diary text written and recorded by myself. Together, the work forms a reflection on my first months in Athens.

Drawn from my personal archive, the footage mainly revolves around the sea. Coming from the south of Germany, the experience of living close to the water shaped my everyday life and perception of the city.

The text speaks about artistic blockage, uncertainty, and the difficulty of understanding how to make art after a period of feeling creatively blocked. At the same time, the work reflects on wandering through unfamiliar surroundings and the gradual transformation that can emerge through a new environment.
